Founded in 1964 by His Holiness the 41st Sakya Trizin, the Sakya Centre is the main seat of the Sakya Order of Tibetan Buddhism. The Centre is a monastic Institute which offers education in Buddhism in general and Sakya tradition of Buddhism in particular.
The Mission of Sakya centre is to provide education to the public irrespective of caste, creed or colour, through day and residential school and institutes giving education in theology, philosophy, art and culture with particular emphasis on the Sakya order. It is a charitable society registered under the under the Societies Registration Act of XXI of 1860.
