North American Sakya Monlam for World Peace Takes Place in Walden, NY (September 21-24, 2017)

The first North American Sakya Monlam for World Peace was held September 21 to 24, 2017, at Tsechen Kunchab Ling (Temple of All-Encompassing Great Compassion) in Walden, New York.  His Holiness Kyabgon Sakya Gongma Trichen Rinpoche and His Holiness the 42nd Kyabgon Sakya Gongma Trizin, Ratna Vajra Rinpoche, presided at the ceremonies.

The event was also blessed by the attendance of His Eminence Gyana Vajra Rinpoche, Her Eminence Jetsun Kushok Rinpoche, and Her Eminence Gyalyum Chenmo of the Dolma Phodrang; and Her Eminence Dagyum Kusho Sakya, His Eminence Ani Vajra Rinpoche, His Eminence Zaya Vajra Rinpoche, and His Eminence Sadu Vajra Rinpoche of the Phuntsok Phodrang.  Tulkus, khenpos, and lamas from various traditions joined this auspicious Monlam.

Venerable Khenpo Kalsang Gyaltsen, Abbot of Tsechen Kunchab Ling, hosted the Monlam at the temple.  The organizers included members of the North American Sakya World Peace Monlam Foundation, a Section 501(c)(3), non-profit organization.
